Cost calculator

App development cost calculator for iOS and Android

Describe your app and the app development cost calculator breaks it into modules — app screens, backend, admin, store release — with hours, a timeline and a price in about 15 seconds.

Most business apps we build share one React Native and Expo codebase between iOS and Android, which usually costs noticeably less than two native apps. The estimate is free; the contract fixes the price.

Price drivers

What moves the price of an app

An app quote is really three: the app, the backend behind it and the admin that runs it. These are the decisions that move all three.

  • Roles

Customers, staff and providers each need their own flows and permissions — and every extra role adds screens on both the app and the admin side.

  • Screens and states

Every screen has loading, empty, error and offline states to design and test. The count of screens matters less than how much each one does.

  • Payments

Card payments are predictable; saved cards, refunds and invoices — or in-app purchases with subscriptions — add their own modules.

  • Real time and offline

Chat, live tracking and statuses that update without a refresh, or field staff who work without a connection and sync later.

  • Media and location

Camera, photo checklists, video upload and processing; routes, geofencing and background location.

  • Integrations and data

Accounting, a CRM, a partner’s API, identity checks — and personal, medical or financial data with stricter storage and access rules.

Orientation

Typical app price ranges

An orientation, not a price list: the same app idea can sit in any row, depending on the roles, the backend and the integrations behind it.

The calculator places your own app: it prices the screens, the backend, the admin and the store release as separate modules. The article behind these ranges: Mobile App Development Cost in 2026: What You Pay For.

Modules

Modules the calculator prices

An app estimate usually splits into these parts. Each one has its own hours, so you can see where the money goes.

  • App screens

Sign-up, profiles, catalogues, bookings and the rest of the flow, for iOS and Android from one React Native codebase.

  • Backend and API

Accounts, data, business logic and the API the app talks to — or a connection to the API you already have.

  • Admin panel

The web side where your team runs the app: users, content, orders, schedules and prices.

  • Payments

Card payments, saved cards and refunds, or in-app purchases and subscriptions.

  • Notifications

Push, email and SMS on the events that matter — a booking, a status change, a reminder.

  • Store release

Builds, the stores’ review requirements and the first release to the App Store and Google Play.

Three formats

Choose how we build it

The format decides who writes the code and how much engineering review goes into it — and with that, the price and the pace.

  • AI / build

    AI Build

Fastest path · prototypes & internal tools

AI generates the structure and most of the implementation. Engineers review integrations and the release. The lowest cost, for prototypes, internal tools and MVPs that test an idea.

  • AI / engOur pick here

    AI + DEV

    Recommended for most MVPs

AI builds the scaffolding and the obvious parts. Engineers own the architecture, critical logic, integrations and full QA. Balanced pace and review, for customer-facing MVPs and B2B products.

  • full / eng

    DEV

    Maximum quality & control

Senior developers own architecture and implementation end to end. AI is an internal tool for speed, never the final author. For production systems and regulated domains.

A consumer app with payments or personal data is an AI + DEV or DEV job: store review, devices and edge cases need engineers. AI Build works for an internal app or a first version you test with a small group.

How it works

From a brief to an accepted product

The same five steps for every project, whatever we build. You always know what is agreed, what is paid and what is done.

  1. Estimate

Describe the product in your own words, add a link or a file. In about 15 seconds you see the modules, the hours, the timeline and a price.

  2. Team review

Our team reads the brief and the estimate, asks about anything unclear in your cabinet or on a call, and confirms the scope and the price. Nothing starts before that.

  3. Contract

You sign a contract online: a fixed price, the scope split into modules, and a payment schedule — in full or by stages.

  4. Milestones

We build module by module. QA checks each one before it reaches you, and the cabinet shows the work as it moves.

  5. Acceptance

You have 7 days to review each module: accept it or send it back with a list of fixes. Your money stays in the project reserve until you accept.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

How much does it cost to build an app?

As an orientation from the market: a companion app on an existing backend $8,000–$25,000, a business app with its own backend and admin $25,000–$70,000, a two-sided or real-time app $60,000–$150,000, and a fintech, health or integration-heavy app $100,000–$200,000+. The calculator prices your own screens, roles and backend.

Is one app for iOS and Android cheaper than two native apps?

Usually, yes. Two native apps mean two codebases and every feature built and tested twice; a cross-platform app on React Native with Expo shares one codebase, and native modules cover the parts that need them. Native is worth its price for games and AR, advanced camera work or deep hardware integration.

Is the release to the App Store and Google Play included?

Yes: the builds, the stores’ review requirements and the first release are part of the estimate. We publish the app under your developer account, so the listing is yours from the first release. The accounts themselves are your cost: at the time of writing, $99 a year for Apple and a one-time $25 for Google Play.

Does the price include the backend and the admin?

Yes, when the app needs them — and almost every app does: accounts, data, payments and notifications live on a server. If you already have an API, say so in the brief, and the calculator prices an app that connects to it.

What does an app cost after release?

Hosting and services — servers, file storage, push, email, SMS, maps — updates for new iOS and Android versions, store review of every release, support and new features. Reproducible defects in our code reported within 30 days of acceptance are fixed free of charge.
